New Way Psychology, based in Newcastle, NSW, Australia, empowers individuals and communities through specialized programs and therapeutic services. Led by Director Nathan Dearing, our mission is to support the social, emotional, and psychological well-being of children, families, educators, and mental health professionals.

Our services include the acclaimed Circle of Security® Program for educators and childcare workers, board-approved clinical supervision, and evidence-based therapeutic training. Our approach is grounded in a thorough understanding of human development, attachment theory, and effective intervention strategies.

Circle of Security® Program

The world-renowned Circle of Security Program® (COSP®) equips teachers, carers, and parents to nurture secure, emotionally safe relationships with children. Research shows that emotionally secure children build healthy relationships, have higher self-esteem, solve problems better, and perform better at school.

Attachment theory pioneer John Bowlby emphasised the importance of intimate attachments. Research supports that secure relationships around a child lead to numerous psychological and emotional benefits into adulthood.

This impactful program, used globally, has transformed the lives of many. New Way Psychology pioneers COSP® in Australia, offering training to equip educational professionals with the tools to create the healthiest environments for children.

Through a series of engaging and interactive sessions, our skilled therapists guide educators in recognizing and responding to the children's emotional cues, thereby promoting secure attachment and supporting a strong foundation for lifelong emotional well-being.

By participating in the Circle of Security Program at New Way Psychology, childcare workers can develop the skills and insights needed to teach and support the children in their care with confidence and compassion.
